Congratulations to our Italian bloggers

On Wednesday 26 February, the Department of Italian held a mid-term party to allow students a chance to get together, listen to some Italian music, and speak the language. The party, organised by Language Coordinator Anna Maria Giuffrida, also provided an opportunity for congratulations to some recent prize-winning students from the University.

As part of last year’s Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo [Italian Language in the World Week], promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign affairs, Kent ran a competition for students to contribute to a blog, L’Italia e il Futuro, with prizes of bursaries to travel to Italian language schools in Italy. The competition and Italian week events were also organised by Anna.

The prize winners and their destinations are: Michaela Antoniou and Eugenie Valentin will be going to Il Faro; Astrid Platt, Daniela Brandano, Kathrin Krause, Alexander Saleh and Robert Adel Girgis to Dante Alighieri; and Chloe Perceval to Babilonia.

Congratulations to all; and enjoy your language studies in Italy.
