Philosophy and Classics alumna on University Challenge

A well-known alumna from the departments of Classical & Archaeological Studies and Philosophy will be competing BBC2’s Christmas University Challenge to be broadcast on Saturday 21 December at 7.05pm.

Broadcaster and writer Fi Glover graduated in 1990 in Classical Civilisation and Philosophy, and will compete on a team with James Wong, television science presenter; Rebecca Lenkiewicz, playwright and film, television and radio screenwriter; and Robert Wade, screenwriter and co-writer of five James Bond films.

Alison Coles, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, said: ‘We are delighted that some of our most successful alumni are reuniting to represent Kent in this year’s University Challenge Christmas special. We’re incredibly proud of what they have all achieved since graduating and we wish them the best of luck for the competition.’

The Kent team will compete in one of seven first-round matches. The four teams from the first-round with the highest winning scores will play in two semi-finals, with the winners meeting in the final. The finals will take place on Friday 3 December at 8.30pm.
