German opportunities highlighted during Employability Week

The editor-in-chief of the radio channel of the German media company Hessischer Rundfunk, Dirk Emig, and the editor-in-chief of Austrian economy media publishing house Österreichischer Wirtschaftsverlag, Stefan Boeck, will be coming to Kent for to present about internship opportunities on the module Medien und Öffentlichkeit.

Medien und Öffentlichkeit is a offered by the Department of German, and provides the opportunity for two students to undertake a paid placement in the cultural and media industries, one in Frankfurt in Germany and one in Salzburg in Austria.  It encourages the development of partnerships with various media and cultural institutions to provide students with internships. The current partners are the Austrian foundation Mozarteum Salzburg alongside Österreichischer Wirtschaftsverlag and Hessischer Rundfunk.

The module convenor, Peter Mayr, will speak about the employability aspect of this module on Wednesday 6 November, with Dirk’s talk on Thursday 7 November. Stefan Boeck will speak to students earlier on 24 October.
