Antonio Lazaro-Reboll, Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies, has organised a Halloween event at the ICA, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, to highlight the Euro Horror genre. The event is part of the research activities of the Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Film and the Moving Image, which is a collaboration between SECL and the School of Arts. The event has been supported by SECL andKent Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (KIASH). The one-day event seeks to examine the critical intersections and interactions between various fields of cultural production – fan discourses, discourses of connoisseurship, academic discourses, spaces for dissemination – to map out a richer picture of the cultural history of Euro Horror. Closing the event will be a rare showing of The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, a 1971 Italian horror film, directed by Emilio Miraglia.
