Department of Philosophy undergoes expansion

The new academic year sees a major expansion to the Department of Philosophy within the School of European Culture and Languages, with six new staff members joining the team.

The incoming members to Philosophy include:

Dr Laura Biron, Lecturer in Philosophy
Laura’s specialism is legal and political philosophy.

Dr Graeme Forbes, Lecturer in Philosophy
Graeme’s interests include metaphysics (especially philosophy of time), epistemology and pragmatism.

Professor Peter Hacker, Professor of Philosophy
Peter specialises in the philosophy of mind and language, as well as Wittgenstein.

Dr Lubomira Radoilska, Lecturer in Philosophy
Lubomira’s research interests include metaethics, the philosophy of the mind, ethics and political philosophy.

Dr Kelli Rudolph, Lecturer in Classics and Philosophy
Kelli specialises in ancient philosophy and science, and pre-Socratics and their influence on Hellenistic philosophy.

Dr Dominic Scott, Senior Lecturer in Philosophy
Dominic’s research interests include ancient philosophy, Plato, Aristotle and the Hellenistics.

Dr Julia Tanney takes over as Head of Philosophy for the new academic year, and so we wish everyone welcome in their new roles, and look forward to a rewarding and stimulating year.
