Exclusive Austrian media placement for German students

The Department of German is delighted to announce that the Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg has just offered a Kent student a paid work placement in its press, public relations and marketing office.

The Stiftung Mozarteum is an NGO that administers parts of Mozart’s estate, including museums and concert centres in Salzburg and is also active in publishing and editing works by and on Mozart.

As it will be for four months, students will also be eligible for the Erasmus work placement grant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain experience of cultural event management, publicity work in German and English, school visits in the Salzburg region and cultural tourism (guided tours of the Mozart sites and looking after foreign orchestras in the city).

The work placement will be offered in association with the new module convened by Peter Mayr, GE586: Medien und Oeffentlichkeit. Peter is in touch with several other German media companies and cultural organisations and the Department of German aims to be eventually able to offer relevant work placements to all students taking the module.
