Classics and Hispanic Studies make links between Kent and Ghent

Both the departments of Classical and Archaeological Studies and Hispanic Studies have both received awards from International Development to strengthen ties with the University of Ghent in Belgium.

Classical and Archaeological Studies have contributed to a collaborative project entitled ‘Multidisciplinary Approaches to Late Antiquity’, with meetings planned to discuss PhD training and research initiatives.

The Department of Hispanic Studies in conjunction with Film Studies in the School of Arts has been awarded a grant to bring together colleagues from the Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Film and the Moving Image and the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS) at Ghent University to discuss potential links at postgraduate level with PhD joint supervisions and with an MA in European Cinema as well as undergraduate joint degrees.
