Academic publisher Brill supports Late Antique Archaeology

The book series Late Antique Archaeology has now been constituted as a journal, with the support of the academic publisher Brill. The series has previous been run as a book series, edited by Dr Luke Lavan from the Department of Classical and Archaeological Studies, since 2001. Luke will remain as series editor with research associate Dr Michael Mulryan.

Late Antique Archaeology will be published annually, supported by double-blind peer review. It will contain papers that address broad themes relating to the historical reconstruction of Mediterranean and north-west European society, from the accession of Diocletian (A.D. 283) to the middle of the 7th century.  It will publish contributions focussing on the use of archaeological evidence to address synthetic questions, and to present pertinent field discoveries. Relevant papers based on texts will be included, along with comprehensive bibliographic essays.

The first two issues will cover:

  • Field Methods and Post-Excavation Analysis and Local Economies?
  • Production and Exchange of Inland Regions in Late Antiquity

The subscription price of 50 euros for individuals (either print or electronic), and 180 euros for institutions (both print and electronic copies).
