Research call for English-to-French bilingual participants

Two SECL researchers, Dr Marina Kolokonte and Dr Vikki Janke from the Department of English Language and Linguistics, are seeking English-French bilinguals for help with a short psycholinguistic study into the development of second language learning.

If the lure of simply contributing to this exciting project is not enough, the researchers offer 5 pounds for 15 minutes of your time.

To participate, your first language must be English and you must consider yourself to be bilingual, having learnt French as a child or having been exposed to French consistently for a solid number of years.

The experiment consists of a very short lexical translation task, where you would need to read some French words on a screen and provide the English translation. After the task, you would fill in a short questionnaire, simply to establish age of acquisition of French and amount of exposure.

If you can help, please contact the researchers, Dr Marina Kolokonte and Dr Vikki Janke via M.Kolokonte@kent.ac.uk and V.Janke@kent.ac.uk respectively.
