Ray Laurence interviewed by South Korean Education Broadcast System

Ray Laurence with the Korean Film Crew from EBS

Ray Laurence, Professor of Roman History and Archaeology at the University of Kent was recently interviewed by the South Korean Education Broadcast System.

The EBS are making the first ever programme about Rome in 3d.  This involves specialised cameras, such as the one in this photo and technical expertise in 3D technologies, in which South Korea has invested in.

EBS interviewed Professor Laurence in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples in early October about life in Pompeii prior to the eruption of Vesuvius in November AD 79.

The programmes will be available from April 2013 for a world market. Pompeii and Rome are the focus of these programmes due to the position of the subject matter in similar programmes made in the 21st century.

This shows the continuing global interest in Classical and Archaeological Studies; something Professor Laurence is well aware of as he is currently on research leave to complete his 16th book on the topic of Written Space in the Latin West.
