Religious Studies PhD student awarded AHRC placement grant

Stephanie Berns is one of 48 AHRC-funded doctoral students from around the UK to be awarded international placement fellowships to undertake research at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. during the coming academic year. Stephanie is currently working an AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Award project held between the Department of Religious Studies and the British Museum which is exploring visitor engagement with religious objects in the museum. The research placement will provide an important opportunity for Stephanie to situate her ideas about the nature of religious engagement with museum objects in a wider international context, and reflects the success of doctoral students in Religious Studies in developing national and international links for their research.
