March 3rd is World Wildlife Day, time to celebrate the world’s wild animals and plants, the contribution they make to our lives and the health of the planet. We look at that balancing act in this month’s SAC news roundup.

  • Not to seem cocky… but student Nerys Bushnell and her dissertation supervisor Dr Sarah Johns have published a paper, exploring the previously taboo topic of sex toys, looking at data on the features women found most desirable in a toy.

  • PhD researcher Barbara Denuelle travelled to Liverpool to commemorate the life of the first Victorian woman to embrace Islam, Fatima Elizabeth Cates.
