Professor Somerville conferred with Fellowship of Royal Historical Society.

On the 27 July 2021 The Royal Historical Society announced that Professor Keith Somerville has been elected as a Fellow by the RHS council.
‘All those newly elected to the Fellowship and Membership bring a valuable range of expertise and experience that will help the Society to fulfil its objective of representing the diverse body of those engaged in historical scholarship.’
‘The Royal Historical Society is an excellent forum for exchanging ideas and finding out about new research.’ Professor Somerville told us  ‘My research on human-wildlife conflict in Africa has a strong historical content, charting conflict and coexistence between people and animals over millennia. Being a Fellow of will be invaluable as a networking and research tool and is a very welcome recognition of my contribution to historical study.’

Somerville is a Member of DICE, Fellow of the Zoological Society of London, Senior Research Fellow, Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London, Member of the IUCN CEESP/SSC Sustainable Use and Livelihoods Specialist Group, Research Associate, Marjan Centre for the Study of Conflict and the Environment. Department of War Studies King’s College, London and now a Fellow of RHS.
