To celebrate the launch of its new course in Human Geography, the University of Kent is offering ten scholarships of £2,000 per year for up to three years of study.
Beginning in September 2019, the Human Geography BSc will be delivered by the academic community within the School. Offered as a three- or four-year (with one year work placement) degree, it is a fusion of major geographic themes such as social and cultural geography, economics and development studies, and environmental and landscape planning. It will also bring in expertise from across the University including law, sociology, anthropology and biodiversity conservation.
Supported by the Royal Geographical Society, the programme is designed to give students a deep understanding of why the world is changing so quickly, and how these changes affect the environment, culture and economies at local, national and global scales.

They will be awarded to applicants with an excellent academic profile and a motivated focus on pursuing a career which provides solutions to the world’s problems.”
Dr Mark Hampton, who will lead the programme, said, “There is a wealth of geography expertise at Kent. Our new BSc degree in Human Geography draws on this expertise, enabling us to run an exciting new programme which builds on the traditional foundations of geography and then takes it to a new level to help analyse and tackle complex contemporary issues.”
