Publication from Doctoral Research

Abishek Harihar, currently studying for his PhD in Biodiversity Management, is celebrating the first publication from his doctoral research. The paper published in PLoS ONE is a collaborative work with his supervisor in India.

The paper can be read online via the PLoS ONE website.

Abishek describes the paper:

“In this publication we use survey data from 2009–10 and based on a prior knowledge of tiger biology and specific issues plaguing the western TAL, we clearly demonstrate that lack of connectivity across a regional corridor has affected this western population. In addition, our analysis has helped identify areas of high tiger occupancy both within and outside existing protected areas. These results assume significance in the light of global conservation targets and recent legislations in India.”
