PhD student writes children’s stories

DICE student Diogo Verissimo has successfully had his storybook “Ten Friends to Remember” published.

The book was the result of an intership Diogo undertook with the Centre for Eco-cultural studies in Sri Lanka. The book was designed as a way to give the mandatory English classes in the country an environmental component through providing much needed reading materials. The book has ten stories, all illustrated by a local designer, each of which touches upon a conservation related subject, from human-elephant conflict to wildlife trade and pesticide use.

The book is available through Google Books.
