Head of School Nadine Ansorg gives you all the essential resources and events available to you for a winning week 25.
“I would like to welcome back all our students to the summer term which starts today. I am sure you will all be very busy preparing for your exams or working on your dissertations. While we still follow government guidelines and adhere to social distancing, I look forward to welcoming more and more of you on campus again.
For those of you who will sit exams in the summer term, please make sure to watch the online recordings of the revision sessions and access the revision materials on Moodle. You can find additional library resources for your exam session here: On Wednesday, 12 May, 2-3pm there will be an Exam Information Session. This event will cover information from Student Support on resilience and tips for mental health wellbeing and your Director of Studies Dr Jane O’Mahoney for PolIR will be able to talk you through exam questions. You can join this event here: Click here to join the meeting
If you are working on your MA dissertations, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your supervisors, and also access the Skills Hub for any additional questions.
Besides the hard work, there are also some exciting events to look forward to tomorrow, 11 May at 6pm, Prof Richard Whitman will discuss with our very own Chancellor Gavin Esler the question “How Britain Ends?”, and the implications of the Scottish election results for the future of the UK. Sign up for the event here.
Tomorrow, 11 May at 2pm, the School’s Conflict Analysis Research Centre (CARC) will also launch the book ‘Northern Ireland: The Fragile Peace’ by Feargal Cochrane May, Professor Emeritus at the CARC. Sign up for the event here.
I very much look forward to seeing you all again soon, and I wish all of you a very successful summer term!
