Dear all,

As Chair of the Disciplinary Committee, I have been alerted to an increase in the number of written coursework that include plagiarised material. The School of Psychology, and the University, would like to remind you that we take plagiarism very seriously, and it is not tolerated. Just to let you know the software we have available for detecting plagiarism is very sophisticated, and thus, there is a very good chance that violations will be detected.

We have available resources that can assist you in improving your written assignments and avoiding plagiarism.

For workshops to assist you, please visit the following link: http://www.kent.ac.uk/student/skills/canterbury/index.html – Week 17 and Week 18, “Referencing your resources/avoiding plagiarism”, “Paraphrasing.”

I advise you to familiarise yourself with the University’s guidance and procedures regarding plagiarism, which can be found at the following link: http://www.kent.ac.uk/socsci/studying/general/plagiarism.html and also here: http://www.kent.ac.uk/uelt/ai/students/whatisplagiarism.html

Best regards,

Eduardo
