Congratulations to Ruth Lamont who has been awarded an internship with the Social Action Team, Government Innovation Group, in the Cabinet Office!

The internship is for 6 months and Ruth will work alongside others in the Centre for Social Action, to support high impact social action initiatives.

The plan is to start the internship towards the end of January 2014. 

Project brief

We are offering two internships of up to 6 months each to high performing researchers to support the development and work of the Centre for Social Action.

Key roles and responsibilities of the successful candidates will include:

• Research on the role of social action in the delivery of public services

• Reviewing the evidence base for social action projects

• Supporting the Centre to build the evidence base on the impact of social action

• Using evidence to inform policy design

• Attending meetings and events relevant to the Centre

• Drafting ministerial correspondence and briefings

Successful candidates will be valued members of the team and the work will be both challenging and interesting. There will be opportunities to attend many internal meetings and to shadow members of the team in external meetings in order to develop an understanding of the broader significance of their contributions to projects. There will be additional training opportunities available throughout the placement.
