Kent Enterprise and Impact Network (KEIN)

The next sessions of the Kent Enterprise and Impact Network (KEIN) will take place on

• Wednesday 21st November, 2018 at Canterbury Campus, from 12:00 – 14:00, in Keynes, seminar room KS14.
• Wednesday 28th November, 2018 at Medway Campus, from 12:30pm – 14:00pm, in Gillingham Building, G2-03,

Forthcoming events:
To kick off the new academic year, we will hear from Dr Fernando Otero from the School of Computing, who will share how a passion for data mining and knowledge discovery has recently led to an award of £226,632 for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, working with a social networking start-up company. In Canterbury we will then hear from KBS’s Dr Antonis Alexandridis on his experience of delivering consultancy to banks across southern Europe, and seeing his algorithms be adopted into the banking system. The talks will be followed with a Q+A on Enterprise. Come with any questions you may have – What is enterprise? How can you approach a company? How do you find out what an organisation’s problems are? How does it fit in with academic research?

What is KEIN?:
KEIN sessions comprise of a networking lunch, ‘enterprise journey’ presentations from academic colleagues, followed by an informal discussion about enterprise ideas and myths. The aim is to bring together academics, researchers, technicians and other members of staff interested in collaboration, innovation and enterprise activities, maximising the impact of their work, and tapping into alternative sources of funding.

The event is an extension of the annual Enterprise and Impact Training Day and was jointly created by Kent Innovation & Enterprise (KIE) and Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD).
