Mark Ellis, Assistant Director of University Operations and Chair of Kent’s Technician Commitment Working Group and Paul Sinnock, Director of IT and Technical Services, School of Engineering & Digital Arts represented the University at the Technician Commitment signatory event held on 24 June 2019.
The University collected an Award of Submission in recognition of progress made towards the principles of the Technician Commitment.
The University of Kent signed up to the Technician Commitment in September 2017, The Technician Commitment is a sector wide, collaborative initiative led by the Science Council and supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Technicians Make It Happen campaign, to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working in higher education and research. 83 institutions have pledged action to support technicians through visibility, recognition and development.
