EKRCC (East Kent Rape Crisis Centre) will be delivering First Responder training to staff in June and July. The sessions will focus on ensuring staff members feel confident in how they manage the situation they are facing. To include:
- Knowing what to say and what not to say
- How to contain evidence appropriately and sensitively within University protocols
- Signpost to additional support
- Understanding own personal responses to the situation and how this affects the way they are managed
These sessions are aimed at Campus Security, Sexual Assault Responders, College Masters, Harassment Contacts and general front line staff who come into contact with students:
