The LASR programme is targeted at professional managers in Professional Services and Academic staff with leadership roles and comprises of four 1-day development workshops and one ½ day workshop, spread across a 8 – 12 month period, focusing on the themes of:
- HE context and Organisational Leadership
- Collaborating with Others
- Influence and Power
- Leading and Managing Change
- Making Change Happen
One-to-one development planning sessions and small mixed learning sets are also included in the programme.
The cohort is nominated by their Heads in consultation with the Deans and those from Professional Services are nominated by the Director. This year, due to the high level of nominations, two cohorts of LASR will be running during 2018-19.
April McMahon, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education opened the workshops as the programme sponsor and spoke about the role of the leader as well as the challenges and benefits of being a leader.
All the workshops are facilitated by Claire Chapman and Lyn McBriar, L&OD Consultants and the first workshops ran on Wednesday 28 November and Tuesday 11 December.
