Learning and Organisational Development hosted an event on 4 July 2018 to launch the Technician Commitment at Kent The event also celebrated the contribution of Kent’s technical staff.
Denise Everitt, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer opened the event which over 50 technicians attended. The event included a presentation from Tracey Dickens from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and lots of ideas generation about how Kent can meet its pledge to technicians under the Commitment.
The Technician Commitment is a sector wide, collaborative initiative led by the Science Council and supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Technicians Make It Happen campaign, to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working in higher education and research.
