We caught up with Stage 3 BA (Hons) Architecture student, Josie, to find out more about her time and experience at Kent.
What has been your favourite module so far, and why?
Collective Dwelling. I found Collective Dwelling incredibly interesting because it introduced a whole host of new concepts and considerations that I felt very engaged with. It gave me confidence in the value of what I was learning as I could see how it would be applied.
What made you decide to study your course at University of Kent?
I loved the campus when I came to visit, I just felt as though I could imagine myself studying here.
Are you a part of any sports or societies? And if so, what’s been your experience? Would you recommend them to fellow/new students and why?
In my first year I was involved in Lacrosse, it was a great way to meet like minded people and engage with life outside of architecture.
What’s your favourite thing about the campus?
It’s green and walkable!
What’s your favourite thing about living in Canterbury?
Ease of getting into town, and the campus from all student accommodation (including second and third year!). It feels safe and not so big its beyond me.
What’s your favourite bar/café/restaurant in town or on campus?
Café des Amis!
What would you recommend to a new first year student studying your course that would really help them?
Enjoy first year, make the most of it and live outside of architecture! Although don’t forget that the content you learn isn’t taught again, just built on so it is important that you are engaged.
