Kent Architectural Student Association’s (KASA) first open lecture of 2021 will be given by Anne Marie Galmstrup, Founding Director of Galmstrup Architects on Tuesday 9 February at 18.00 GMT. Due to the pandemic, all open lectures will be held via Microsoft Teams. Please use this link to join.
Galmstrup Architects is a design practice which specialises in cultural and community projects. Their work revolves around the cultural sphere and vary in scale from contemporary museums, galleries, community centres and post-industrial transformations, to vision masterplans of heritage sites and entire landscapes.
Their approach is engaging with briefs, developing projects which are rooted in the narrative of a place and customised to the users. We work with a curiosity towards context and content delivering pragmatic designs inspired by local methods and craftsmanship.
Committed to community engagement, Anne Marie established a non-profit sister company, Imaginations Cross Cultures, where they conduct engagement processes and summer schools for young people. Anne Marie graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture. She was a partner at Henning Larsen Architects in Copenhagen for over a decade and prior to that worked for Scottish/Japanese Ushida Findlay Architects in London.
All welcome!
