Programme Director, Howard Griffin, recently presented at the 3DS London meetup about the MA Architectural Visualisation course at Kent School of Architecture and Planning. Drawing influence from both architecture and film, this programme offers a progression route into both industries; the professions of architecture, film and animation fuse together, providing students with the ability and understanding to work in each or all of them.
Howard presented the employability opportunities available to students in during the Summer term of the course. This year, students are undertaking placements at AVR London, Glass Canvas, VMI Studios and The Wire Collective.
Howard Griffin shares, “Since we set the course up in 2010, engagement with industry has been a key component, with companies regularly coming in to teach our students or to review portfolios. Our students value this opportunity to gain professional experience through this work placement scheme and in nearly all cases the placements turn into permanent jobs afterwards. For companies, this is chance to be part of the development of the next generation of architectural visualisers.”
The 3DS London meetup includes professional members from architecture, advertising, visual effects, gaming, animation and interactive industries.
