Discover and use our multimedia collections including films, documentaries, or television and radio programmes to build subject knowledge for your essays or research. The library’s digital multimedia is available to all Kent students and staff anytime, anywhere on your preferred devices.

The library also holds physical DVDs and Videos which can be viewed on any student PC or borrowed from the Library.

Streaming services

Kent’s two streaming services below, Box of Broadcasts and Kanopy, are the main places to find and access digital multimedia content. Some streaming services don’t offer a licence for universities to purchase, for example Netflix and Amazon Prime are only for individuals to buy and use, not institutions.

Box of Broadcasts (BoB)

Box of Broadcasts is a repository of British TV and Radio programmes and is available to UK universities and colleges for teaching and learning. View and record programmes from over 75 free-to-air channels and search the archive of over 2.2 million broadcasts. The resource is only available to students studying in the UK under the ERA licence.

Kanopy

Kanopy streaming video service includes award-winning documentaries, classic and indie films, and covers many subjects. You can make clips and create your own playlists. The Library will buy the videos that you use the most and they will then become part of the Library’s collection of e-resources and be accessible for one year.
