We are delighted to launch the Global Challenges Doctoral Centre (GCDC) blog to keep both Kent and external colleagues up-to-date on the centre and its activities
The University of Kent officially launched the Global Challenges Doctoral Centre (GCDC) with an event at the Canterbury campus in Autumn 2018. The GCDC serves as the nucleus for Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) PhD training activities at Kent and is therefore dedicated to doctoral research addressing the challenges of economic development and well-being faced by developing countries on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list.
As part of this initiative, the University of Kent offered four doctoral scholarships that commenced in September 2018, and a further eight doctoral scholars will begin their studies in September 2019. You can read about Kent’s current GCDC postgraduate researchers here.
In additional to the information available on the GCDC webpage on the Graduate School’s website, this blog will provide detailed updates on the centres varied activities.
Please get in touch with GCRF Officer, Grace Grussenmeyer (kentgcdc@kent.ac.uk), with any questions or for more information about the GCDC.
