All Hourly Paid Lecturers (HPL’s), Demonstrators and any timesheet contract employees will now have to submit all their timesheets and overtime claims online via Staff Connect.
We are very pleased to announce that finally from 1st September 2024 all Hourly Paid Lecturers (HPL’s), Demonstrators and any timesheet contract employees will now have to submit all their timesheets and overtime claims online via Staff Connect.
This functionality will allow claimants and approvers to have more control over their claims and approvals without the need for sending paper claims via email which then need to be processed manually by the Finance team.
With this new system, when you have submitted your claim, this will be sent to your line manager to be approved for payment.
Checks will be undertaken by the HR Immigration team where applicable, and claims will be paid in line with Payroll processing deadlines as usual. e.g. any authorisations received by the 10th of October for hours worked in September (1st to the 30th) would be processed in the October pay run and any authorisations received after the 10th * for the same period would be processed in the November pay run.
*Please note December is a short processing month so the authorisation deadline will be brought forward to the 29th of November.
Timesheets can be done weekly, monthly, or whatever suits, but for simplification we would encourage all staff to liaise with your timesheet staff to agree a process between you. We would also encourage submitting to the end of each calendar month as a preference too to help you keep track.
The Finance Shared Services team will be here to support staff with this transition, and act as a supporting team for approvers and claimants who need assistance with this process.
