As you may be aware, the Scholarships Office has recently been restructured as part of the E&E consultation and will sit within the Finance Directorate with a close link with Future Students and Brand. Due to the expected increases in volumes of work and changes required to develop the Universities Scholarships offer to ensure institutional wide benefits, additional staff were transferred to the team in August 2023. We are working to improve and develop new and existing processes and how funding is accounted, and budgets approved.
Each team member will now be a contact for each division as per the table below. This does not necessarily mean they will be responsible for every scholarship for the allocated division as some have more and some less scholarships to administer and we are also still administering the central scholarships.
The contacts will ensure that queries are dealt with or diverted to the correct person who can assist in a timely way which should improve response times.
In general, it is more efficient to keep certain categories of scholarships with one contact, such as GTAs and Philanthropic scholarships where possible.
Please do not send queries to individual’s personal email addresses.
All scholarship enquiries should still be made to our general scholarship email address Scholarships and Research Council grant funded queries should be made to EMS Research Councils UK.
As part of the changes, it has been decided that Scholarship listings published on the Scholarship finder will be listed by the Scholarships team. Please do not set up fund templates or publish any scholarship listings on the finder before speaking to the Scholarships office. More information on workflows, approval procedures and funding will be released as soon as possible.
