Kent Review Vol. 1

Kent Review Vol. 1 has arrived! A party at Waterstones in Canterbury on 14th May celebrated the launch of the anthology. Staff, students, and guests gathered to hear from some of the contributors. The readings took us to Denmark, Chile, Paris, Nepal; there were bees, bicycles and buses; chickens without batteries; full Irish breakfasts and empanadas; text messages and train announcements and poems unearthed from the past. And then there was wine and pretzels and conversation. A good time was had by all.

A diverse selection of short fiction, novel extracts and poetry — by turns surprising, funny, moving, experimental, fresh and always accomplished — Kent Review Vol. 1 is a showcase of the very best work emerging from the Centre for Creative Writing. It is the first in a biennial series, a beautifully produced paperback that staff and students alike can be proud of and which testifies to the strength and diversity of our thriving postgraduate programmes. Copies can be obtained via the School of English office or by contacting Amy Sackville (a.sackville@kent.ac.uk); they will also be on sale at Blackwell’s on the Canterbury campus.
