To mark the launch of her new book Making Relational Care Work for Older People: Exploring innovation and best practice in everyday life (Routledge, 2020), author and English alumna Jenny Kartupelis MBE will host a discussion on the topic of relational care at 5pm at Thursday 22 October 2020.
The way we care for older people, and the value society places on them and their carers, has become an ever-more urgent topic. This event will launch Kartupelis’ new book, Making Relational Care Work for Older People: Exploring innovation and best practice in everyday life, which takes a unique approach to the subject. This book explores the concept of relational care, what it feels like for older people and for carers, why it makes life happier and how those involved in residential or community care can make it work.
At the launch, Kartupelis will offer insights based on her extensive survey work, into the critical factors that promote greater emotional and physical wellbeing for older people and carers. Her talk will be followed by presentations and commentary from a range of experts, and audience questions.
