Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies Conference to be hosted at Kent

The Third Biannual Conference of the European Network for Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies

Material Meanings, the third biannual conference of the European Network for Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies (EAM), will take place at Kent from 7-9 September.

The conference, which has been coordinated by the current Network Chair (University of Kent English Professor, David Ayers) includes a programme of 300 speakers from 35 countries. Disciplines represented include literature and the visual arts, film, drama and performance, music, media, new technology, architecture and design. Speakers include academics, artists and practitioners, and members of the broadcast media.

Keynote Speakers will include Stephen Bann (Emeritus Professor of the History of Art and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol), Ileana Pintilie (art historian, art critic and Professor at the West University, Faculty of Fine Arts in Timisoara) and Neil Cox (Professor of Art History at the University of Essex, England).
