Alumna Neelam Saredia-Brayley, who studied BA (Hons) English Literature and Creative Writing and MA Creative Writing at the School of English, will deliver an online writing workshop entitled ‘Exploring Poetry’ for The Gulbenkian, the campus’ onsite arts venue on Tuesday 4 August 2020 at 5pm.

Have you always wanted to write creatively but not sure where to begin? Or do you want a group to test your words out and to be heard?

‘Exploring Poetry’ will give participants the opportunity take part in writing exercises, reflect on the current place the world is in, and express this creatively using poetry & spoken word.

Neelam is a performer who works with illustrators, musicians and contemporary dancers to create multi-disciplinary pieces that are completely unique to Kent’s poetry scene. She is a highly in-demand performer, and in 2019 she was awarded Arts Council funding to develop her first spoken word poetry show; Queer Brown Skin, a project emerging from her MA work at Kent.

The workshop, which is recommended for ages 15+, costs £5 to attend.

Tickets for the workshop can be booked on The Gulbenkian’s website, here:
