New print and audio release of Nancy Gaffield’s Tokaido Road

A poetic response to the print series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido by Utagawa Hiroshige.

This book is an invitation to go on a poetic journey through timeless Japanese pictures of the floating world (ukiyo-e). In this anthology, a meaningful dialogue between East and West occurs, and this publication marks the first product of a fruitful global relationship that has been flourishing between the University of Kent in Canterbury and Kogakkan University in Ise.

Copies of the book come with a DVD of Nancy Gaffield reading the Tokaido Road poetry with Japanese musical accompaniment.

Copies are available priced £28 from the Communities at the Crossroads symposium on the 30th October.  Copies can also be ordered from Kogakkan University via kcie@kogakkan-u.ac.jp
