Patricia Debney publishes new poetry collection

Last month Patricia Debney (Reader in Creative Writing in the School of English) published a compelling new collection of poetry with independent publishers Cinnamon Press. The latest collection, Baby, looks back at ‘a dysfunctional childhood and a mother who lived a life always on the verge of destruction’ but which is ultimately a celebration of love and family.

Patricia Debney’s other publications include Gestation (Shearsman Chapbooks, 2014) and a collection of prose poems, Littoral (Shearsman Books, 2013). Her first collection, How to Be a Dragonfly (Smith Doorstop Books), won the 2004 Poetry Business Book & Pamphlet Competition.

Patricia will be launching Baby at the University of Kent on Tuesday 11 October 2016 as part of the Creative Writing Reading Series and the School of English is very much looking forward to helping celebrate Patricia’s recent success.
