Postgraduate taster courses at the Tonbridge Centre

The School of English will be offering two short postgraduate taster courses at the University’s Tonbridge Centre in 2016.

English and American Literature: British Romanticism and Critical Theory

This course is an opportunity to develop your love of literature at postgraduate level, enabling you to make a decision about further study. You will explore the ideas shaping the movement that gave us a pious Wordsworth and an ironic Byron, but also produced the lyric genius of John Keats and the Miltonic broodings of Mary Shelly, an eighteen-year-old who would animate the corpus of Frankenstein, on Lake Geneva, in 1816.

4 weeks from Weds 20 January, 10am -12pm, £125

Creative Writing

This short course is designed with ambitious writers in mind and will introduce you to key concepts that would be developed during the MA in Creative Writing. This introduction will encourage you to take control of your own work and write exciting, contemporary material.

4 weeks from Weds 24 February, 10am -12pm, £125
