A recent article by Dr Sarah James (Senior Lecturer in Medieval Literature) has been selected as one of the Editors’ Choice Articles for 2015 by The Review of English Studies. The article, entitled ‘Oculi Carnis, Oculi Mentis: Why Seeing Is Not Believing In Capgrave’s Life of St. Katherine’, is one of only four papers selected from those published by the noted journal in 2014. The article explores Capgrave’s interest in the nature of visual phenomena as revealed in his Life of St Katharine and offers an alternative reading by establishing Capgrave’s interest in a broader intellectual context. The paper is available to access free of charge from the The Review of English Studies website throughout 2015.
