Wise Words Festival 4th-6th of April

Taking place around Canterbury from Thursday 4th—Sunday 6th April, “Wise Words is a festival that reawakens wonder and encourages curiosity. It offers unexpected, intimate and intriguing encounters with poetry and storytelling that invite people to see the world from a different perspective and to take time to pause.”

Festival Launch | In partnership with Zone Poetry and Free Range | 7:30 – 10pm | The Veg Box, Canterbury 

Join us for an evening of poetry and music to celebrate the launch of A Few Wise Words. This event is free but donations on the night will be welcomed. The café serves vegan and vegetarian food during the day. A snack menu and bar is available for Free Range events. Dizraeli headlines an incredible evening of slam | The Gulbenkian Theatre 

As part of the Wise Words Festival, Dizraeli will headline an incredible evening of slam at the Gulbenkian from 8pm—10:15pm on Friday 4th April. Dizraeli is the BBC Slam Poetry Champion and Farrago UK Slam Champion. He has toured the world as a rapper and spoken word artist, from the West Bank in Palestine to the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury. Described by Venue Magazine as “a true folk hero, capturing the truth of our times with ground level honesty”, Dizraeli leads the groundbreaking hiphop band Dizraeli and the Small Gods, and with DJ DownLow has supported hiphop icons The Pharcyde, Mos Def, Foreign Beggars and Beardyman in the last year. He’s written three hiphop plays, including the Edinburgh Fringe award-winning Rebel Cell.
