Earlier this month a group of undergraduate students and staff members from the School of English spent five days in New York as part of the module ‘Innovation and Experiment in New York’. The module introduces students to some of the main areas of culture in the city, from the New York school of poetry through Abstract Expressionism, and on to post-modern fiction. During their stay the group visited some of the most famous landmarks in the city and had the opportunity to experience arts and literature in a different culture. The group visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, the Williamsburg Gallery and the Whitney Museum, to name just a few. The trip was a great success. We’re hoping to make it an annual event.
