On these pages you will find resources that study, evaluative, and interpret literature through criticism and the application of literary theory.

There are two main databases we recommend for finding journal articles on your topic.

ProQuest One Literature is a searchable electronic library that provides access to a wealth of reliable academic sources, including journal articles and a wide range of primary works. Within the database, you can find:

  • Journal criticism on your topic
  • Full-text poetry, prose and drama, including all Penguin Classics
  • Reference resources such as author biographies and study guides

MLA International Bibliography is a database covering literature, literary theory, and criticism, and the historical aspects of printing and publishing. In the database, you can find:

  • Journal criticism on your topics
  • Theses and dissertations on a topic
  • Book reviews

You can also search for specific journals in BrowZine, either by browsing by topic or searching for the journal title. To find our print journals, search for the title in LibrarySearch. Take the information on LibrarySearch with a pinch of salt when it comes to the journal holdings, If it looks like we don’t have current issues, it is still worth checking the shelf in the Library.

eBook Collections

Don’t forget to look at the How to use eBooks guide to get the most out of these collections.

  • Kanopy contains over 30,000 movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema and independent films.
