UCMMT 2021

Professor Steven Gao of the School of Engineering and Digital Arts is to serve as General Co-Chair of the 2021 UK-Europe-China Workshop on Millimeter-Waves and Terahertz Technologies (UCMMT 2021) which will take place virtually from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 September 2021.

UCMMT is an unique forum, where leading scientists from the UK, Europe and China share their most recent progress in the research fields of millimeter waves and Terahertz signal sources, devices, circuits, systems and applications (5G, 6G, Internet of Things, health monitoring, medical imaging, space science, etc).

Professor Gao was also recently elected to be the representative for the UK and Republic of Ireland in European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP) during 2021-2023.

Professor Gao said: ‘It’s a great honour to serve as the General Co-Chair of UCMMT 2021 and also represent the UK and Republic of Ireland in EurAAP. This demonstrates that the high-quality research work from our Communications Research Group is recognized in the UK and internationally. The Communications Research Group at the School of Engineering and Digital Arts is internationally leading in a number of research areas such as antennas and RF devices (Prof John Batchelor, Dr Benito Sanz, Dr Paul Young, Dr Robert Horne, Prof Steven Gao), and massive MIMO and beamforming techniques, photonics and Wireless Communications (Prof Jiangzhou Wang, Dr Chao Wang, Dr Phillippos Assimakopoulos, Dr Huiling Zhu)’.
