Research Assistant vacancy: Design for Interactive Media

The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is seeking a talented and motivated Research Assistant to join the Intelligent Interactions (II) research group. The position is part-time (15 hours per week) and specialised in Design for Interactive Media.

The role is part of the Interreg 2 Seas project “SOCORRO: Seeking out corrosion – before it is too late” which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

As Research Assistant (RA) you will be required to utilise your existing research and design experience and skills to plan and produce materials needed for communicating the research findings. You must have a problem-solving approach to meeting the overall and specific project deliverables, and will be expected to devise work leading to communication outputs including an exhibition (incl. exhibits), and promotional and educational materials for motion graphics, XR experiences, e-learning, videographic documentation, research interviews, etc.

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

  • Bachelor or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. Digital Media / Design, Interactive Design, Communication, Digital Arts)
  • knowledge and good understanding of graphic and communication design, 2D/3D/4D media, audiovisual (AV) and interactive technologies, media for education
  • experience of producing media assets for interactivity and different audiences and contexts
