Research Assistant Vacancy: Exhibition & Communication Design

The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is seeking a talented and motivated Research Assistant to join our Intelligent Interactions (II) research group. The position is part-time (20 hours per week), fixed term for 12 months, and specialised in Exhibition and Communication Design.

The role is part of the Interreg 2 Seas project “SOCORRO: Seeking out corrosion – before it is too late” which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

In this role you will work closely with the research team at the University of Kent and also with our EU project partners. Given the current COVID pandemic working remotely is an option. However, it is expected that you contribute to EDA and SOCORRO’s research community, and where possible attend and present at EDA seminars and SOCORRO related events.

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

  • Bachelor or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. Exhibition Design, Digital Media / Design, Media Studies, Digital Arts)
  • knowledge and good understanding of exhibition design, interaction design, project development, audiovisual / research methods, media for education
  • ability to design and use digital and interactive media, XR and audiovisual technologies
