On Friday 26th June the School of Economics held its first Sixth Form Day for Economists. The one day conference provided students from across Kent and beyond with an insight into the study of economics at university. Delegates from six schools were in attendance to listen to a range of speakers from the School of Economics. In addition, Paul Mortimer-Lee from BNP Paribas closed the conference with an invaluable insight into life as a city economist.
Feedback provided from the students who attended the conference stated that they found the day to be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. They were impressed at the variety of contributors on the day, and especially enjoyed the insight into what life is really like when working as a city economist. The opportunity to talk to academics about current issues, to develop their subject knowledge and to meet other students who are also interested in studying economics at university made this day a success for all those who attended.
