The School of Economics is pleased to offer an online Taster Event for anyone considering undergraduate study in Economics on Tuesday 1 December 2020, 14.00-16.00.
The programme will include topical presentations from lecturing staff and the President of our Economics Society, plus there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion between and after the presentations.
We will also be joined by our fabulous student ambassadors: feel free to ask them about any aspect of studying Economics at Kent.

Using the latest Office for Budget Responsibility report, Luke will examine the state of the UK economy after 8 months of restrictions and consider where economic policy goes from here.
14.40 Inequality: the K-shaped recovery
Joel Pointon, Economics Student and President of the Kent Economics Society
Explore the inter-generational inequalities facing young people, how they have been exacerbated by this crisis, and why Economics will be vital in solving them.
15.10 Why the Analysis of Covid-19 is Fundamental Economics
Dr Amanda Gosling, Senior Lecturer in Economics
Amanda will demonstrate how economics is vital to our understanding of Covid and how we can evaluate polices that might mitigate its spread and effect. She will also argue that the question of whether we should prioritise health or GDP is misplaced, a more productive debate is around how fast we try to resolve the problem and importantly who should bear the cost.
