We were delighted to meet over a hundred alumni and guests at our Kent in India event in Delhi on Friday 7 March 2025.
The evening provided a perfect opportunity for our graduates living in India to reconnect with the University, reminisce on their shared experiences, and network with the community. Chair of the Kent in India Alumni Board, Prashant Baluja, provided a warm welcome alongside several of his board members to showcase the ongoing success of the association. As one of our most engaged international groups, they work to bring together alumni and prospective students to emphasise the benefits of a Kent education, and are always looking to expand their reach.
Asit Gupta, a proud alumnus and one of our most avid supporters in India, was happy to reflect on his time at Kent and received a generous reception from the gathered guests.
We were also proud to celebrate the India Women in Leadership Scholarship, which was launched last year and offers five aspiring female leaders from India a 50% reduction on their course fees – and is available to those looking to study any postgraduate taught course at Kent.
The scholarship supports the increasing focus on greater representation of women in senior leadership positions in India and builds on the success of our alumni who have excelled in a range of courses including Business, Forensic Science and Computing.
Director and Dean for Global and Lifelong Learning, Anthony Manning, said: “The Kent visit to India successfully achieved multiple strategic objectives. By promoting women in leadership scholarships, the University created opportunities for talented female students to pursue higher education while simultaneously building meaningful engagement with local partners and supporting prospective students planning to join Kent in the upcoming academic years.
“Similarly, through close collaboration with our Indian Alumni, we were able to showcase their lived experiences and diverse pathways to success in influential careers. By highlighting these personal journeys, we aim to inform and inspire new student experiences that will enhance employability and career development in the years to come, demonstrating Kent’s commitment to global educational partnerships and student empowerment.”
Global Alumni Engagement Officer, Alex Perkins, said: “It is always a pleasure to meet our international alumni face to face and hear their stories. The enthusiasm they demonstrate for Kent is a testament to the work of the University and the strong bonds that are forged here. We are so grateful for their continued engagement and work to promote our reputation globally.”
