In May/June 2024 Sarah Frow will be completing the Pilgrim’s Way to raise money for the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy.
Her first-hand experience of PCIT, both as it’s Fitness Trainer and as someone with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease, gives her a unique understanding of the value of the treatments, research, and sense of community the centre offers.
Having been a runner since the age of 11, sport and fitness have always played a big part in her life but since her diagnosis in 2021 the way she exercises has changed. Her new mantra ‘exercise is my medicine’ underscores her ethos that she is no longer training to win but instead to slow the progression of her disease.
By completing the entire Pilgrim’s Way route in a week Sarah is looking to challenge herself. The journey will take her from Winchester to Canterbury and see will be aiming to complete 20-30 miles each day.
When deciding to take on this significant mission, Sarah said:
‘I am equally excited and terrified to take on this personal and purposeful challenge. I will be taking every step for PCIT, its current and future members, and it is my way of raising awareness of Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease.
‘Please consider sponsoring me to take on this huge challenge to help me support the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy, which is already so important to many people. Thank you.’
