Centre for Child Protection (CCP) receives new recognition at Home Office event

202403 CCP Home Office Academic Innovation Award

We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible recognition of the Centre for Child Protection and Kent Police for their ground-breaking collaboration on the “Robyn and Molly” serious game simulation training tool!

This innovative project—designed to strengthen trauma-informed, sensitive, and victim-centred policing for girls with lived experience of child sexual exploitation—was a finalist in the Home Office Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC)‘s ‘Academic Innovation Award’ (March 2025), earning a prestigious Highly Commended for its impact and collaboration.

“Robyn and Molly” has been widely recognised for its contribution to enhancing policing practices, also securing a finalist spot in the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)’s Societal Impact Award (2024) and receiving Kent Police’s Strategic Prevention Head of Command Award (2023).

These achievements reflect the power of collaboration between policing, academia, and child protection in driving meaningful change. Congratulations to everyone involved!
